**Novice Salver: Only new members with less than three years of bowling experience at this, or other clubs may enter the novice salver. Winners of the Novice Salver can enter the Novice Cup.
**Novice Cup: Only members who have never won a singles competition at ANY club may play in the Novice Cup. Winners of the Novice Salver may enter this competition.
Each players Handicap is based on their previous performances in competitions. New player handicaps are set in their first year of competition after joining the club and is based on their previous level of bowling experience. The net handicap is added to 21 shots.
The pairs are drawn at random. Each player has 2 woods. The heats of the Drawn Pairs will be played on one day, the date will be set by the Fixture Secretary before the season begins and published in that year's Fixture Booklet.. The final will be played on finals weekend. The format will be a knockout, with the number of games being dependent on how many pairs enter. If the scores are equal after the nominated number of ends, an extra end is played.

This will be added to the scorecards at the start of each session. The format will be 3 rounds of 10 ends, followed by a 10 end final for the top 2 teams on shot difference. The competition will be played to it’s conclusion on a date specified at the start of the season by the Fixture Secretary and published in the Fixture Booklet..
