Pulborough Bowls Club Community Fun Day!

The sun shone on Pulborough Bowls Club for it's second Community Fun Day on Sunday 24th July from 2pm, sponsored by Cubbitt and West. Members were busy preparing the club from early morning to ensure the success of the day and give the best reception to everyone coming along to join in the fun! The children's games were especially popular, with trophies being given for the best scores in skittles, target bowls and any other fun game that was invented by Mick Ralph on the day! Many adults were tempted to try their hand at bowls for the first time, whilst others looked to make the transition from indoor bowls to outdoor or dust off their bowls after years away. There was a true buzz in the air that brought a smile to even the most exhausted Pulborough players, like Jane and Malcolm Gray, that had been valiantly serving up bacon rolls all day, managed to have a laugh and a well earned drink at the bar as the event carried on until 8pm. Music was supplied by Retrospect Event Sound and raffle prizes were donated by Countryside Meats of Adversane , the Flower Shop in Pulborough, Dyke Farm Shop, Suters Butchers, Hennings, Wilmers, Pulborough Stores and many generous club members. Approximately £400 was raised towards improvements to the canopy area at the front of the club over the Winter months. Our thanks go to the many people within PBC that made this event such a huge success.

Ladies Invitation Triples

Tues 28th June 2016 marked the fourth Annual Ladies Summer Triples Tournament at PBC.
The day was a huge success with 9 teams taking part in a 4 round format, followed by a final between the 2 group winners. The winning team was Arundel, with Storrington close on their heals in second. Pulborough entered one team, comprising of Clare, Pauline and Jane, who finished mid-table. The winner's shield and prize money were presented by Malcolm Gray and the shield was donated by Mick Ralph. Everyone commented on the hard work, hospitality and warm welcome that Pulborough Bowls Club had afforded them and they are very much looking forward to next year's Tournament. Special thanks go to Jan Barnes, for making the event happen and the many club members that worked tirelessly to ensure it's success
